Nothing on this site constitutes legal, financial, or professional advice. All information is provided in good faith for the purposes of public education, civic engagement, and the promotion of transparency and accountability in matters of public interest. Readers should verify critical information independently before acting on it.
While every effort is made to ensure accuracy, the publisher does not warrant the completeness or timeliness of any content. Errors, when identified, are corrected promptly and transparently. See Methodology & Sources for our fact-checking standards.
2. Public Interest Journalism & Fair Comment
The content published on this site constitutes public interest journalism and fair comment on matters of public concern, including but not limited to: government planning decisions, public spending, heritage protection, housing policy, environmental regulation, and the conduct of public institutions and officials in their public capacities.
All factual claims are based on documented, verifiable sources including government data, court records, parliamentary proceedings, planning authority records, academic research, and professional journalism from established Maltese and international outlets. Source documentation is available upon request.
Where analytical judgements, opinions, or editorial positions are expressed, these are clearly identifiable as commentary and are protected expression under Article 41 of the Constitution of Malta (freedom of expression), Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights, and Article 11 of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights.
All individuals and entities referenced on this site are discussed solely in relation to their public roles, official functions, or documented public actions. No content on this site is intended as, or should be interpreted as, a personal attack on any individual’s private life.

4. Privacy Statement
Malta Housing Watch respects your privacy. This section describes what data we collect and how we handle it.
What we collect
This site is a static HTML website. It does not use cookies, tracking scripts, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or any third-party services that collect personal data. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar tracking technologies.
The web server (nginx) generates standard access logs which may include IP addresses, browser user-agent strings, and pages visited. These logs are used solely for security monitoring and technical troubleshooting. They are not shared with third parties and are retained for a maximum of 90 days.
Third-party resources
This site loads fonts from Google Fonts. Google’s privacy policy applies to that service. No other third-party resources are loaded.
Personal stories
Where personal testimonies are published, they are sourced from academic research, published news reports, or provided with the consent of those involved. Names may be changed to protect privacy where noted. Documented testimonies from academic research and journalism are attributed to their original sources.
Your rights under GDPR
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as applicable in Malta, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we may hold. Given that this site does not collect personal data beyond server logs, this right applies primarily to those logs. To exercise your rights, contact us at the address below.
5. Cookie Statement
This site does not use cookies. No first-party or third-party cookies are set when you visit any page. No cookie consent banner is needed because no cookies are used.
6. External Links
This site contains links to external websites including news outlets, government databases, EU institutions, and coalition partners. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of these external sites. External links are provided for reference and do not imply endorsement.
7. Corrections Policy
When errors are identified, they are corrected immediately and transparently. Major corrections are noted at the top of affected articles with the date and nature of the correction. An earlier version of the Voices page contained fictional composite stories - these were replaced entirely with documented testimonies from academic research and news reports.
To report an error or request a correction, contact us using the details below.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Maltese law, the publisher shall not be held liable for any loss, damage, or inconvenience arising from the use of, or inability to use, information on this site. This includes, without limitation, any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss or damage.
The content on this site is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
9. Governing Law
This disclaimer and the use of this site are governed by the laws of Malta. Any disputes arising from the use of this site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Maltese courts.
